Today, I am playing a practice match in the morning and I have a private with my new coach in the afternoon. In the practice match, I want to make sure to take care of the first four balls better. I saw that I make a ton of errors in this range after watching a video of one of my matches. Too often, I overplay on shots that aren't there yet. My goal when I am returning is just to neutralize the first two balls. I am not going to go for too much on the return. It is very risky and I make more return errors than I would've otherwise, with little reward. On my serve, I am just trying to play my first ball aggressively, usually to the other side. I don't have a huge serve that I am usually putting away a ton of easy first balls for winners. I have more freedom to be aggressive than I do on my return, but I still make an unhealthy amount of errors here. In the afternoon, the coach will probably lead the practice. I will practice the things he told me last week in my match today and show him in our lesson.
