Today, I am getting the opportunity to train with amazing coaches and players. I am going to practice being grateful for my coaches' world class advice. I will be attentive and listen to whatever they have to say. I will be ready to use my coaching voice to encourage myself. After all, I'm serve and volleying in practice matches, not thirteen in a row at Kalamazoo.
I have an obligation to my parents, my coaches, and my future self to be completely committed to this. If my coaches want me to work on transition, then that is probably a big hole in my game that needs to be improved. I should be excited. At my level, there are many different areas of my game which can be improved and will make me a better player much faster.
My coaching voice will remind me that making mistakes is a part of growing. I am not going to immediately be a pro serve-and-volleyer, or immediately have great hands. These are things that take practice, and mistakes are natural.
