Today, I am playing in a tournament. It is an opportunity to practice the things I have been working on, and nothing more. My dad and my sister are also here, so I expect that I might start worrying about what they are thinking. I will then use my coaching voice to remind myself that it doesn't matter what they are thinking. I will go to the tournament with my goals, and all that matters is if I give my best effort to achieving these goals.

In my warmup, I will make sure to keep my feet very intense. The main cause when I am making lots of errors is my feet. I always play better when I am moving well. When I make errors in the warmup, I will not let it make me frustrated.

I have an obligation to my parents, my coaches, my future self, and to you to give my best effort to use my coaching voice in keeping myself concentrated only on my intentions, not on results. It does not matter if I lose 0-6, 0-6, I will not show negativity, and I will not resort to pushing.

My coaching voice will remind me that I don't focus on winning. I only focus on the things over which I have control. I am my own toughest opponent, and I will win the battle within myself.
